On the Miro virtual whiteboard, you can collaborate with your students interactively and synchronously, regardless of location. We'll show you how to use the tool to combine media, brainstorm ideas together, and develop concepts.
Miro is an endless digital whiteboard on which you can collaborate with your students interactively, regardless of location. Any number of participants can work on the same task, collect and visualize their ideas, develop concepts, and organize tasks. Various templates (Post-Its, mind maps, project plans, etc.), including those from the Miroverse collection, facilitate the creation of boards.
Data protection at Miro, USA, is not guaranteed. This is the conclusion reached by critical assessments from October 2021, here, and from June 2022, here. Since summer 2023, Miro has had EU data center residency. Quote: "Under EU data center residency, all customer content (production data, backup data, and metadata) is hosted in the EU by default." Quote: "Some features and data are outside the scope of EU data center residency:
- Customer support - Data you provide to customer support is currently hosted in the EU, and Enterprise plan customers receive support from staff in the region by default. However, for operational reasons, we may need to provide support from a non-EU region.
- Third-party integrations - Data you provide to third-party integrations may be processed outside your desired region, with the exception of in-scope data.
- Subprocessors - With the exception of Miro's hosting provider, AWS, and our support subprocessor, Zendesk, data shared with our subprocessors is not in data center residency. They may therefore be processed outside of your selected region. For more information, see our list of subprocessors.
- Usage data – Usage data is not included in the data center residency.
Therefore/nevertheless, do not publish any personal student data or other sensitive content and data on a Miroboard!
HNEE does NOT have an institutional license (so-called Enterprise pricing plan) with Miro. Miro can only be used free of charge as an individual under the Education pricing plan.
